The Ambassador of Finland visited VolgaStrap in Kostroma

On July 6 2010 the Ambassador of Finland Mr. Matti Anttonen visited OOO VolgaStrap. The Ambassador was invited to VolgaStrap by the President of Specta Group Mr. Erik Helin.

The visit started with a site tour round VolgaStrap and followed by a meeting in which Mr. Erik Helin, Specta CEO, Mr. Andrey Annoyarov, General Director of VolgaStrap, Mr. A. Konovalov, First Deputy Director of Kostroma Administration and other officials participated.

The construction of VolgaStrap factory, a part of SPECTA group, was partially financed by Finnish investors.  Mr. Anttonen had the possibility to evaluate the assimilation of capital investments, to see the implementation of modern technologies on the Russian plant, and learn what perspectives VolgaStrap has.

The visit was followed by the meeting with Kostroma governor, Mr. I. Slunyaev, which took place in Kostroma administration. The parties have discussed perspectives of partnership and new directions of possible investments - first of all in wood processing, transport and energetics.

On July 1^st in Moscow, the Department of External Economic Relations of The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF held the awarding ceremony for the winners in the contest for THE BEST RUSSIAN EXPORTER 2009.

The winners were chosen in three nominations in 16 industries:

OJSC “ Novolipetsk Steel” (NLMK)  has become a winner in the nomination “The best Russian exporter of an industry”, OJSC Magnitogorsk Iron &  Steel Works is a winner in the nomination “The best Russian exporter to CIS countries”

LLC  VOLGASTRAP, which is a part of SPECTA Group, has become a winner in the nomination “The most dynamically developing exporter in iron &steel  industry” . The CEO of Specta Group, Mr. Erik Helin, and General Director of the factory, Mr. Andrey Annoyarov participated in the awarding ceremony. In his speech Mr. Annoyarov thanked the contest organizers for the high evaluation of the factory activities, and confirmed the VolgaStrp plans to expand its export geography.

A big range of high-tensile steel straps, produced at the factory in accordance with the European standards, is widely used in ferrous and non-ferrous metal industries, wood-processing, construction industry. Within 3 years the VolgaStrap steel strap won trust of Russian consumers and now confirms its positions on CIS, European and Asian markets where the regular deliveries of steel strap are being made to.

SPECTA at “Mosbuild 2010” exhibition

On 6-9 April the biggest construction exhibition “Mosbuild 2010” took place in Moscow. This year the fair was held in not an easy period for construction sector, experts admitted the crisis heavy influence. Nevertheless the number of participants practically remained the same – more than 2000 companies. The exhibition was visited by 100 000 specialists.

Specta took part in the event and exhibited a wide range of steel and plastic straps, as well as strapping stand, that showed  the strapping  process of construction materials with plastic strap.

Specta professionals together with our Italian partners of OMS company consulted on all issues of packing products into thermo-shrinking film, stretch film and by stretch-hood method. They also offered complex packing solutions for construction industry.

The company confirmed its status corresponding  to the Management System Standard in the field of design, manufacturing and sales of steel strapping.

This certification is normally made at the request of a manufacturer, a vendor or a seller of products and services in order to confirm its conformity not only to the compulsory requirements of governmental standards, but also to the declared characteristics of quality and security.

The voluntary ISO certificate is a quality label for products and services, additional guaranty of confidence and professional competency.

Certified products of the company will give our buyers and partners 100% assurance in the quality and reliability of our products and services.

SPECTA steel strap has also the certificate, confirming the conformity to the security and quality requirements specified by regulatory documents.

In January 2010 LLC “SPECTA INTERPAK” became a member of Trade Chamber of Commerce of Kostroma Region.

TСС of Kostroma District is a non-commercial social organization, which supports and assists in creating favorable conditions for business activities, development of commercial, science and technical cooperation with Russian and foreign companies.

TCC of Kostroma Region is a branch of Trade Chamber of Commerce of Russian Federation, which has 173 territorial offices and 16 representations abroad.

SPECTA has already participated in some projects of the Chamber.  Now, close cooperation gives us a possibility to be aware of all TCC projects and events and make our contribution into the development of commercial potential of Kostroma Region, attraction of investments, market expansion of local products and services, increasing their quality and marketability.

The plant OOO “VolgaStrap” is a part of SPECTA Group and operates in Kostroma. It is a good example of investment, technical and science cooperation of different countries: Russia, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland.

SPECTA opens a warehouse in Perm

SPECTA continues to widen its warehouse regional net. In October 2009 another warehouse of packing and marking materials is to be open in Perm, in the Urals.

The store has room for 35 pallets and is intended for small wholesale and retail. This will enable the regional customers to reduce their transport expenses and facilitate the purchase of necessary products.

The stock  will comprise steel strap SPECTA PRIMA, SPECTA CLASSIC of different types and sizes, seals for steel strapping.

Official ceremony of VolgaStrap, LLC inauguration

October 11, 2007 is the date when Official ceremony of VolgaStrap, LLC inauguration took place in Kostroma- the first Russian plant to manufacture high-tensile steel strap. VolgaStrap, LLC is a member of the Packaging Industrial Group SPECTA.

More than 150 guests participated in the inauguration, among them there were foreign investors and partners, regional and city authority, institutions and organizations which had been involved in engineering and building of the plant, customers, who already received first deliveries of high-tensile strap. Accompanied by great fanfares the steel strap was cut by Mr. Tsikunov Y. F., acting as Kostroma governor , Mr. Bychkov A.I., regional Duma chairman., Mr. Plaschitsin V.V., first deputy head of Kostroma municipal government, and Mr. Helin Erik, president of SPECTA Company

Mr. Averianov, General Director VolgaStrap LLC, made a speech about the plant: it is the application of the latest technologies which makes manufactured strap meet European Norms. Energy-efficient and ecological safety systems are also applied at VolgaStrap plant.

More than 70 areas were examined before investors’ taking a final decision about plant location in the City of Kostroma. The region economic situation, the availability of human recourses and municipal government support contributed to choosing that place.

The plant is an integrated system of production lines and warehouse facilities with a total area of 11 000 square meters offering 100 jobs. It will use high-quality Russian raw materials to manufacture 40 000 tons of high-tensile steel strap every year, which will be used for strapping industrial cargos. The high technologies of this enterprise provide for high quality of steel straps, which in turn improves the quality of industrial packaging and serves to preserve cargos during transportation thus making Russian goods more competitive.

During the inauguration all our guests had an opportunity to know more about the plant: to see the raw material storage hall, production and packaging line, laboratory, storage room of ready products, branch lines. Second line is being installed in second production turn.

After start-up operations in the beginning of the current year, the company delivered its products to such large-scale enterprises as Novolipetsk Iron-and-Steel Mill and Severstal, OAO Metal-Steel Timertay, Sayanogorsky Aluminum Plant, Kronostar and others.

The president of SPECTA Company Mr. Helin presented a report “Globalization in Practice”. In this report Mr. Helin spoke about VolgaStrap history, about its engineering and building. He also thanked all the guests for active support and assisting him in realization of the project. There returned speeches Mr. Tsikunov Y. F., acting as Kostroma governor , Mr. Bychkov A.I., regional Duma chairman., Mr. Plaschitsin V.V., first deputy head of Kostroma municipal government,. Mrs Makkonen Arja, Charge d`Affaires of the Finnish Embassy, Mrs. Gvozdeva S.N. minister-councilor of the regional development Ministry.

Mr. Bychkov Viktor, the actor and the presenter of the ceremony performed a corporative movie “Peculiarities of National Packaging” (starring Victor Bychkov and Ville Haapasalo). The movie main idea is to show needs of modern packaging and advantages of the packaging for heavy load producers.

It is a significant event for domestic industry as "VolgaStrap" is the first Russian plant to manufacture high-tensile steel strap. Application of high technologies makes it possible to manufacture the product which meets the European standards. Such domestic manufacture reduces dependence from import deliveries.

New models of strapping tools P324 and P325

SPECTA is presenting on the Russian market new models of battery powered strapping tools P324 and P325 designed for strapping different cargos with polypropylene and polyester strap.
These models are the upgraded versions of models P322 and P323 that proved themselves reliable for heavy duty conditions in metallurgical, woodworking, construction and other industries.
The main advantages of these tools in comparison with the previous models:

• more ergonomic design;
• smaller weight;
• higher tensile strength.

Robot-palletizers models FR230 and FR290

North-West regions automatic robot-palletizers models FR230 and FR290. The machines are designed for wrapping long-sized products with stretch film.
The operator brings the machine to the cargo, fixes the stretch film to the base and then the machine moves automatically around the pallet, wrapping it with stretch film in accordance with the pre-set program. While moving a special contact wheel of the palletizer tracks the dimensions of the cargo thus enabling to wrap the products of big length and width.
The machines are battery powered that makes them independent of the energy supply and enables to operate in any part of the enterprise. The full battery charge allows wrapping of 220 euro pallet. Another advantage in comparison with standard palletizers with rotating tables is — no limits for maximum weight of the cargo to be wrapped.
